God Contact part 1
Prayers—talk to God

How to pray
Prayer is talking to God. This heavenly communication begins privately, whispering to God wherever you are or it can be public—in front of others such as at a breakfast table before you eat. Believing in Jesus gives you 24/7 access to the throne of God. Just talk naturally and respectfully to Him. Begin your prayer with something like this, "Dear God," and end "In Jesus name, Amen" He loves to hear you talk to Him.
God is not a gumball machine, where you put your money in and the prize rolls out. But He is the God who made everything and He is true to His Word. Keep your heart pure before Him, read His Word daily, attend a loving church that believes in Jesus and His power.
Don't put time limits on God. He often answers our prayers in ways that surprise us, not the way we expected the answer to come, but in a better way than we expected.
And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
—John 14:13-14 NKJV
Ways to Pray:
1. Prayer to be rescued
Go to "Need to be Rescued?"
2. Prayer for safety
Personalize Psalm 91 by putting your name or the name of the person who needs protection in every verse, as you pray this psalm of protection.
3. Pray the Lord's Prayer
Jesus' disciples asked Him to teach them to pray, and this is the prayer He taught them to pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.—Matthew 6:9-13 NKJV
